ELI
Hello! I’m Eli. I’m from Edmonton, Canada, and I live here now with my wonderful wife and three children. I spend a lot of time with my kids. I love helping them with their schoolwork and playing with them. We have a lot of fun together!
I lived in Texas for a while when I went to college, but I also lived in Osaka for four years, teaching English to university students. It was a great experience! While I was in Osaka, I tried a lot of delicious food. And I have to say, I think Osaka-style okonomiyaki is better than Hiroshima-style. The taste is just amazing!
In my free time, I enjoy playing golf and drawing. Both help me relax and have fun. I also love whiskey. It’s one of my favorite drinks. But I am a little sad because Japanese whiskey has become so expensive lately.
That’s a little about me. Nice to meet you!

JAKE
I am originally from New York State in the United States, but I live in Mexico. The city where I live in Mexico is very different from the small town where I grew up. There is a lot more noise in the city, and the weather is much hotter!
I work in an office where I prepare reports that describe my company’s performance. I like to read, make web applications, develop video games, and spend time with my wife and daughter.
In addition to English, I speak Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Dutch. I am also learning Mandarin Chinese, which is much more difficult for me than European languages. I think the same must be true for Japanese students who study English. Sometimes the most challenging activities are the most fun!

JEN
Hi! My name is Jennifer, but please call me Jen.
I graduated college with a major in Japanese Language and Literature and I lived in Japan for a couple of years after graduation. It was such a great experience that I still try to visit Japan at least every other year. My favorite way to continue to practice speaking Japanese is by going to karaoke. It helps with both reading speed and pronunciation!
I now live in Seattle, Washington, USA with my cat, Fuji. In my free time I like to go on hikes and experience the beautiful mountains nearby. I also consider myself a “foodie” – I enjoy both going out to eat and cooking good food at home. Misoyaki black cod is my specialty!

JON
Hello, my name is Jon. I live in the state of New York, but I don’t live in a big city. I live in a small town near the Finger Lakes. I teach history at a school near my house. I also coach the swim team. There are a few big universities near my town, and I meet people from all over the world.
My favorite part of exploring new cultures is trying their food. When I went to Japan, I tried lots of new foods. My favorite was a simple tasty bowl of ramen.
I also love to read novels and books about history.

KAILLE
Kaille is originally from the United States. She has been living in Japan since 2012. She is a school counselor and teacher.

STACIE
Hello, everyone! My name is Stacie, and I am an English teacher at Nodai Toka elementary school. I have lived in Japan for 16 years, and I love my life here!
I have two beautiful children, and they make me very happy. We enjoy playing together, going to the park, and trying new foods. Sometimes, we go on trips to different places in Japan. We love visiting zoos, aquariums, and big playgrounds!
One of my favorite places in Japan is Enoshima Island. It is a small but beautiful island near the sea. I love walking across the bridge to Enoshima and exploring the cute shops. It’s a very special place for me.
Another thing I really love is cats! Cats are so cute and fun. I have a cat at home named Memphis.
I love teaching English and I hope that you have a nice time learning English!
Have a great day!

TODD
Hi, everyone. I’m originally from Buffalo, New York in the U.S. I love my hometown, which is famous for spicy chicken wings, cold and snowy winters, and sports teams that always lose.
I’ve lived in the Kanto region for 17 years, including Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Tokyo. I really love Tokyo. It’s such an interesting and exciting place. I think it’s impossible to feel bored there.
I have a lot of hobbies! I love hiking in the mountains and onsen. I like playing and watching many sports. I’m a member of a dragon boat team, and I’ve done four full marathons. I also enjoy writing, photography, reading, movies, and music.
I really love teaching English. Most recently, I was head teacher at an English school in Kamata, Tokyo. I’ve met so many interesting and wonderful people while teaching. With Eigo Connect, I hope to meet many more!
